1st gig at this venue. A little strained because of sound restrictions but fairly satisfactory as far as the gig went. Nice bosses, Martin & Rachel.Good welcome. Empty at first getting busier later.
1er concert ici.Un petit peu dur á cause des restrictions de niveau sonore.Assez satifaisant niveau performance.Les patrons sympas.Martin et Rachel.Bon acceuil.Vide en debut de soirée,un peu plus de monde plus tard.

Not many people tonight. The Euro football ensuring that all people wanted to do was watch TV.

Slow start without much enthusiasm from the band, turning into a very pleasant evening towards the end. Great audience and nice general vibe. We were lucky to avoid the fierce storm raging 5km away. Stayed dry!!.
Lent á démarrer sans beaucoup d’enthousiasme du groupe,la soirée est devenue bien plus tard vers la fin.Bon publique et bonne ambiance générale. On a eu de la chance á éviter l’orage qui passait á 5km de lá.On est resté au sec!!.

21 — 20h.00 - FETE DE LA MUSIQUE,BAR DE LA PLACE,GAREOULT,FRANCE (FULL BAND)
Slow start but tonight there was a good crowd. The people were in the mood for some music and we played a long time, 4 hours 15 minutes.
Lent á démarrer mais ce soir il y a eu un bon public.Les gens etaient partant pour la musique et on a joué logtemps,4 heures 15 minutes.

23 — 20h.00 - CAMPING HOLIDAY MARINA,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Dave’s voice was shot from the 4 hour marathon last band gig. Lack of sleep also made this an evening to forget. very lack-lustre.
La voix de Dave etait enrouée aprés le marathon du 21 Juin.Manque de sommeil faisait de ce concert une soirée á oublier.

JULY/JUILLET

01 — 21h.00 - TENNIS BAR,CAMP DU DOMAINE,BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS,FRANCE (FULL BAND)
1st gig at the Tennis Bar went down well. The 2nd set was rather long and perhaps we should have played 3 smaller sets.Good crowd. Most of them stayed until the end.
1er concert au Bar de Tennis s’est bien passé.Le 2eme set etait plutot long et peut etre on aurait du en faire 3 plus petits. Assez nombreux les gens, le plupart sont restés jusqu’á la fin.

02 — 20h.30 - CAMPING HOLIDAY MARINA,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (FULL BAND)
Nice gig although not a lot of people around. A steady trickle all evening long. Good sound.
Pas mal meme qu’il n y avait pas grand monde.Les va-et-vient toute la soirée.Bon son.

09 — 20h.00 - CAMPING HOLIDAY MARINA,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Nice evening..Started off well and got even better. Quite a lot of people tonight.
Bonne soirée..Bien démarré et ça ‘est meme amelioré.Pas mal de monde ce soir.

10 — 20h.00 - LES PINS PENCHÉS,ST CLAIR,LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
First acoustic gig at Pins Penchés. very polite French audience more concerned with family dinner than anything else. Nice place to play and boss-man Freddo is always on form.
premier soirée acoustique aux Pins Penchés. Public tres poli mais plutot absorbé par le diner. C’est quand meme un joli coin et le patron Freddo est toujours a toujours la peche.

15 — 21h.00 - TENNIS BAR,CAMP DU DOMAINE,BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS,FRANCE (FULL BAND)
The night was rather restrained as Camp du Domaine has installed a decibel limiter which cut the sound system as soon as we did a soundcheck. Instead of putting the sensor some distance from the stage the Einsteins who installed the system placed it directly over the stage. Philippe is a real rock drummer and we are a band who play an energetic set. The system was immediately overloading and blocked the PA, who knows for how long?. Another example of French fear of culture and rock music. Tonight was shit shit shit…
La soirée etait plutot restreint á cause d’une installation de Limiteur de decibels qui s’est enclenché des la prise de son, bloquant la sono.Au lieu d’installer le capteur á une distance raisonnable pour capter les decibels d’ambiance, ces Einsteins ont installé ça directement au-dessus de la scene. Philippe etant un vrai batteur de rock et nous ensemble qui sommes un groupe tres dynamique, le systeme s’est surchargé et la sono etait Hors service á partir de lá;pour combien de temps qui le sait?.Encore un exemple de la peur de la culture rock. Ce soir etait vraiment naze naze naze….

17 — 20h.00 - LES PINS PENCHÉS,ST CLAIR,LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Nice evening. Attentive people into enjoying the music and a very nice vibe.
Gentille soirée. Les gens attentifs qui se plaisaient á ecouter la musique.Ambiance sympa.

18 — 21h.00 - LE PETIT RHUM, LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE,(DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Nice evening but the place has a tiled floor and glass walls so the sound is dreadful. Nice bar staff.
Soirée sympa mais la salle est faite de carreaux et verre donc le son est affreux. Les patrons sont sympas..

19 — 20h.00 - LE BOHEME,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Nice evening once again.Port Grimaud village is a lovely setting and the bosses and people enjoyed it so much it is to become regular every Friday from now until at least the the end of August.
Soirée sympa encore. Le village de Port Grimaud est un joli cadre et les patrons et les gens ont tellement bien aimé que ça deviendra regulier chaque Vendredi au moins jusqu’á la fin d’Aout

Nice gig if a little strained by the Mistral blowing everything around and de-tuning the guitars..Nice people.
Pas mal meme si on etait un peu déreglé par le Mistral qui soufflait fort,désaccordant la guitar..Les gens sympas.

Nice evening great people. long gig and great mussels for dinner.
Super soirée,Des bons gens,un long concert et des bonnes moules frites pour diner.

Nice evening although a little tiring. Not many people but those that were there stayed till the end.
Sympa mais fatiguant.Pas beaucoup de monde mais ceux qui etaient lá sont restés jusqu’á la fin.

Played very well but not a lot of people due to 2 festivals in neighbouring villages. Good sound and a change in the repertoire, airing out some songs not played for a while;as well as one or two fairly new ones.
Bien joué mais pas beaucoup de monde á cause de 2 festivals dans les villages voisins.Un bon son et quelques changements dans le repertoire,essayant quelques chansons pas joués depuis un moment;ainsi que 2 ou 3 nouvelles.

28 — 20h.00 - CAMPING LE PETIT ARLANE,VALENSOLE,FRANCE(FULL BAND)
Great gig. The 2nd best of thr year so far after the March After-Heineken Regatta party. The people danced from the beginning and we never let them sit down again.
Super soirée. Le 2eme meilleur aprés le After-Heineken Regatta party en Mars.Les gens ont dansé depuis le début et nous ne les avons pas permis de se rasseoir.

Nice gig.Lots of people. Tired but efficient.
Pas mal, Beaucoup de monde, Fatigué mais efficace.

Very good evening. Really beginning to get the mix between recorded guitar and live guitar. Voice on form.Great people including two really good singers who harmonized well together.maybe because they were husband and wife.
Tres bonne soirée. Vraiment le son entre Guitares “live” et enregistrées commence á etre bien.La voix en bonne forme. Les gens etaient super,avec un couple qui harmonisait bien en chant, probablement parce qu’ils etaient mari et femme.

AUGUST

01 — 20h.00 - LE BOHEME,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Another great evening. The place was packed and although they were not riotous they did seem to enjoy it all.
Encore une super soirée.L’endroit etait á bloc et si les gens ne faisait pas une emeute ils semblaient s’amuser bien.

05 — 21h.00 - TENNIS BAR,CAMP DU DOMAINE,BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS,FRANCE (FULL BAND)
Another sabotaged night at Camp du Domaine due to the stupid sound system and it’s dumb Limiter. Lovely people watching a band doing its best to play but just waiting for the end of the evening. This used to be a greatly anticipated gig for us. Now it’s become a total drag.
Encore une soirée sabotée au Camp du Domaine á cause de la sono et son putain de Limiteur. Les gens tres sympas qui regardaient un groupe qui essayait de jouer mais qui n’attendait que la fin de soirée.Ici etait un endroit bien apprecié pour nous. Maintenant c’est devenu merdique.

08 — 20h.00 - LE BOHEME,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Mega wind..Dave’s guitar was a casualty. The wind blew it over and the neck was separated from the body…Off to the repair shop soon. New guitar even sooner. Bummer bummer bummer!!!!!!!.On the gig front, apart from the wind it was a very good evening.
Mega vent. La guitare de Dave etait cassée par une rafale qui la renversée, cassant la manche net et la separant de la caisse. Au luthier bientot. Nouvelle gratte meme plus tot que ça!! Merde merde merde!!!!!. Au niveau concert, ça s’est bien passé.

12 — 20h.00 - LES PINS PENCHÉS,ST CLAIR,LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Quiet evening with a rainfall menacing to happen .It didn’t and the evening went ahead without any interruption.Ok gig. Nothing memorable.
Soirée calme avec la ménace de pluie. Ça se n’est pas passé et la soirée s’est déroulée sans incident. Ok mais sans plus.

13 — 20h.30 - CAMPING HOLIDAY MARINA,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (FULL BAND)
Not bad. The 2nd set was infinitely better received than the first. We played well although the sound was a little strange.
Pas mal.Le 2eme set etait mieux reçu que le 1er. Nous avons bien joué mais le son etait un peu bizarre.

14 — 21h.00 - LE PETIT RHUM, LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE,(FULL BAND)
Small venue but an excellent evening. Dancing girls, drunken people having a good time. Everything that makes up a great gig.We played very well and for a long time. One of the best gigs of 2008 so far.
Petite salle mais une soirée excellente.Les filles qui dansaient,les gens bourrés et s’eclatant bien. Tous ce qui fait un bon concert de rock.Nous avons tres bien joués et longtemps aussi.Un des meilleurs concerts de 2008 jusqu’ici.

17 — 20h.00 - LE BOHEME,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Ordinary evening. Quite a lot of people chattering and dinner knives and forks clattering, Dave tired and still having to use an electric guitar because of delayed delivery of the new acoustic. Ordinary.
Soirée mondaine.Pas mal de monde parlant á travers les couverts cliquetants.Dave etait fatigue et se servait toujours de la guitare électrique á cause du livraison retardé de l’acoustique nouvelle. Ordinaire.

20 — 20h.00 - CAMPING HOLIDAY MARINA,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
The evening was okay but a bit boring. The people left early with their kids and the whole evening was tiring. Dave has his new Ibanez acoustic. The debut gig for that was this evening.
La soirée etait un peu merdique.Les gens sont partis se coucher tot avec leurs enfants et la soirée entiere etait fatiguante.Dave a sa nouvelle guitare acoustique, un Ibanez.Son debut etait ce soir.

21 — 20h.00 - LES PINS PENCHÉS,ST CLAIR,LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Great evening. Cosy vibe and some people stayed after their dinner to enjoy the songs. Warm evening in many ways.
Super soirée. Ambiance intime. Quelques gens qui restaient apres le repas pour ecouter les chansons. Soirée chaleureuse dans plusieurs sens.

22 — 20h.00 - LE BOHEME,PORT GRIMAUD, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO ACOUSTIC)
Uneventful but nice this evening. The crowd was enjoying the music. Not really a memorable night but ok
Sans plus, mais sympa la soirée. Les gens appreciaent la musique. Pas vraiment une soirée inoubliable mais ok.

Very possibly our last gig at Camp du Domaine. The sound was as loud as we could get it without tripping out the PA limiter. Still not very much at ease although the people loved it..
Tres possible que ça soit notre dernier concert á camp du Domaine. Le son etait aussi fort qu’on pouvait faire sans déclencher le limiteur. Toujours pas trop á l’aise meme que les gens l’ont bien aimé.

Last band gig at Holiday Marina this season was a stormer!! Not many people at first but then they came out of the camping and the evening finished very well indeed.
Dernier concert á Holiday Marina cette saison etait uncarton!!! Pas beaucoup de monde au début mais ils sont venus assez nombreux plus tard et la soirée s’est tres bien terminée.
