01 — 18h30 – VILLAGE DE NOËL, LE LAVANDOU, FRANCE(FULL BAND)
The series of end-of-year gigs for the Lavandou Christmas market for the most part were ok but the solo gigs were so-so. I did my bit but people are more interested in eating and drinking than music. Obviously with some exceptions. Bread and butter gigs. The band gig was much better received and listened to.
La série des concerts fin d’année pour le marché de noël du Lavandou se sont déroulés come ci-comme ça. Les gens plus intéressés pour manger et boire que la musiq;ue. Le concert du groupe était différent car les gens étaient plus attentifs
FEBRUARY/FEVRIER
07 — 20h30 – AUX BIERES DU MONDE ET D’AILLEURS,LA GARDE, FRANCE (FULL BAND)
1st half an hour was packed and we played really well. After that people came and went and although we still played well the energy was more subdued because of less audience feedback. Still, happy with the performance; it’s sounding tight.
1eère demi-heure était à bloc et on a vraiment bien joué. Après ça les gens allaient et venaient et même si on continuait à bien joué on a perdu un peu de pêche puisque moins de retour du public. Toujours est-il que j’en suis très content parce que la mise en place y est.
APRIL/AVRIL
03 — 16h – TOURNAGE FILM, LE LAVANDOU, FRANCE (DAVE EXTRA/FIGURANT)
Nothing to do but sit in a bar and get filmed. I DID meet Eric Cantona though so great evening.
Rien à faire sauf m’asseoir dans un bar et me faire filmé. J’ai rencontré Eric Cantona donc puisque je suis fan de Man United ça m’a bien plu..
20 — 20h – LES TETES BRULÉES, LA FAVIÈRE, BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
1st gig of the season went well.. More people than I expected. Played well considering the lay-off.
1er concert de la saison s’est bien passé. Plus de monde que j’aurais cru venir. Pas mal joué compte tenu du temps depuis le dernier.
MAY/MAI
02 — 20h – LES TETES BRULÉES, LA FAVIÈRE, BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO
Nobody so left early. Played well. Essentially a paid rehearsal.
Personne donc fini tôt. Essentiellement un répète paye. Plutôt bien joué.
10 — 20h – CHEZ PÉPONNE, CAMPING VAL ROSE, LA LONDE-LES MAURES, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Not bad. Small crowd but I think they enjoyed it.Shame that the management turned out be cunts.
Pas mal. Petit public mais ça a plu. Dommage que la direction s’est avérâit d’être les enculés.
18 — 17h – – ZÈBRE VERT, BORMES- LES-MIMOSAS,
FRANCE (DAVE SOLO) Promo day for an association in memory of a little girl deceased from cancer at 12 years old. Good day, even if only a few paid any attention.
Journée d’évènement en l’honneur d’une fille décédé à 12 ans d’un cancer. Bonne journée, même si peu de gens ont fait attention.
23 — 20h – CHEZ BLONDINE, Z.I DU BATAILLER, BORMES LES MIMOSAS, FRANCE( DAVE SOLO)
Not lots of people but a nice gig all the same.
Pas trop de monde mais sympa quand même.
JUNE/JUIN

Good evening here. Bar about half full.

Good night here tonight. Lots of comings and goings but I played well and even got tipped.

Very good evening. The people stayed till the end and I got a 20 euros tip.
Très bonne soirée ce soir. Les gens sont resté jusqu’à la fin et j’ai reçu 20 euros de pourboire.
28 — 19h – C LA FAMILLE, LA FAVIERE, BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Cosy evening. Not full but lots of nice people staying till the end. Hot as hell? The boss wants more gigs so watch this space.
Soirée intime. Pas beaucoup de monde mais les gens très sympas qui sont restés jusqu’à la fin. La patronne veut encore des dates alors regardez cet espace.
JULY/JUILLET
02 — LA CABANE, PRAMOUSQUIER, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Good evening here even if only half full. The working team are very professional and the boss was very cool. Played well but my voice is quite fragile at the moment.
Soirée sympa même si l’endroit n’était qu’à moitié plein. L’équipe est tr!s pro et le patron sympa.

Very few people and my playing was bad for the first half of the evening.
Très peu de monde et j’ai très mal joué pour le premier moitié de ma prestation.

FRANCE(FULL BAND)
Acoustic set to begin with. Played well but the acoustic guitar sound needs a lot of work if we are to persevere with unplugged sets. Some mistakes but generally good. Good response from the people here.Happy with the comfortable volume level.
Un set acoustique pour commencer. On a bien joué mais le son de la guitare acoustique a besoin d’être mieux réglé si on doit continuer des unplugged.Quelques erreurs mais bon prestation dans l’ensemble. Bon reponse des gens ici. Je suis contente du niveau de son confortable.

Pretty decent evening tonight. Fairly late start so I played less. I was relieved that my voice was in good form since it’s been fragile all week.
Soirée assez sympa ce soir.J’ai joué moins longtemps due au départ assez tard. Rassuré que ma voix était bien après avoir été fragile toute la semaine.

Not many people stopping in for drinks, but quite a few sitting on the wall across the street to listen for free.
Pas trop de monde qui venait boire une verre, par contre pas mal assis sur le mur en face pour profiter gratuitement.
05 — 20h – LE MALT, LE LAVANDOU,FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Pretty decent gig. Great welcome and appreciative public, if a little unresponsive.
Sympa. Bon accueil et un public qui appréciation même si un peu sans réaction.
07 — 19h – C LA FAMILLE, LA FAVIERE, BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Without doubt the most flatlined gig of the last 2 seasons. Such a boring public, which is a drag considering that the staff and owner were very good.
Sans doubt la soirée la plus chiante des dernières 2 saisons. Un public mort et naze, d’autant plus chiant parce que le personnel et propriétaires étant très sympa.
15 — 19h30 – ILOT FEMME (CHEZ PIC PIC), LE LAVANDOU, FRANCE (DAVE SOLO)
Another exercise in futility. I wanted to do this gig for the couple that run it who are really nice people. The same can’t be said of the waitress, super dismissive of the not-regularclients and stressed out by the music. Fairly boring like most restaurant gigs.
Encore un exercise en futilité. J’avais vraiment envie de fire cette date parce que j’aime bien le couple de gérants. La serveuse par contre était franchement stressé, une mal-baisée qui n’était pas sympa avec les clients pas réguliers et qui n’aimait pas la musique. Dommage mais une soirée à chier comme le plupart des soirées restaurants.

Some really nice people here made playing for them a pleasure. Tips (for once) and a date to be arranged in September.
